While it’s not uncommon for spectators to catch balls while sitting in the stands, the manner this father snagged the ball while feeding his infant wowed onlookers, earning him the title of “the dad of the year” on social media.

In the video, a foul ball, hit by Padres catcher Luis Campusano, is seen flying into the stands toward the audience in the footage. The ball flies far into the air, and another spectator in the row in front of him tries to grab it, but the dad nursing his baby who is strapped to his chest with a bottle of milk catches it casually.

The man’s wife, who is seated next to him, appears to be equally amazed. The commentators remarked,

Nice job while feeding the baby, holds the bottle no spillage, baby in perfect bliss and a souvenir.

It’s also been described as “sensational.”

Who Catches Foul Ball While Feeding Baby?

The man that catches the foul ball while feeding the baby is Jacob Kingsley. His wife’s name is Jordan and his 11-month-old baby’s name is Shepherd.

During the fifth inning at Great American Ball Park, father Jacob Kingsley caught a foul ball while bottle-feeding his kid.

The ball was hit by Padres catcher Luis Campusano and flew into the stands behind third base, according to a video posted by the MLB. Kingsley rose from his seat after landing in the stands and bounced once again, catching the ball with his right hand while holding his infant son’s bottle with his left.

Kingsley told Jim Day of Bally Sports Ohio after the game that the biggest thing on his mind when making the grab was “safety.”

Kingsley said,

I saw the ball pop up, and just wanted to keep him happy, so I did my best to protect him at the same time. I reached the hand up, had some fierce competition, but it ended up happening great — but baby first.

He added,

[And he] probably didn’t even know what was happening. This will be a great memory to share with him, it’s his first Reds game so we have the certificate there too, so it will be awesome.

Jordan, Kingsley’s wife, claimed she had kept an eye on the balls throughout the game to make sure their kid, Shepard, was safe. She stated,
