Curtis Campher Becomes First Bowler To Take Four Wickets In Four Balls At The T20 World Cup
Ireland’s Curtis Campher has managed to become the first star of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2021 after his heroics during Ireland vs Netherlands on Monday. The Irish speedster became only the third ever bowler in the world and first at the T20 World Cup to take four wickets in four balls as he snared the first hattrick of this edition of the showpiece tournament.

Curtis joined Lasith Malinga and Rashid Khan in the list of the bowlers in international cricket with four wickets in consecutive deliveries. Campher achieved this during the Group A match of the 2021 T20 World Cup against the Netherlands as the quick removed Colin Ackermann (11), Ryan ten Doeschate (0), Scott Edwards (0) and Roelof van der Merwe (0).
Campher’s stellar effort saw him bundle out Netherlands for a measly 106 after the country had won the toss and opted to bat at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
Rashid Khan had taken four wickets in four balls in 2019 against Ireland while Sri Lanka’s Malinga recorded figures of 5/6 in four overs against New Zealand as he took four in four deliveries.
Riding high on Campher’s showing, Ireland eased their way to a win on the day with side sitting comfortably at 76-2 in 11 overs with the team needed a scanty 31 runs in 9 overs.
