Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Neymar were all name dropped in season 5 of Money Heist or La Casa de Papel as it is locally known
One of the most anticipated and ardently awaited shows of 2021, when season 5 of Money Heist finally dropped earlier this week, the frenzy for the show couldn’t get any higher. However, its not only the way in which the story has shaped up in the newest installment of the Spanish show which has endeared to people but the reference to the GOATs of football as well.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi And Neymar Find Mention In Money Heist Season 5
Episode 2 of the showpiece show saw the deranged and petulant Enrique Arce Arturo indulge in a string of antics once again. Snagging a slew of weapons, Arturo managed to lead a string of hostages to the room where the gang of thieves had housed their arsenal in the Royal Bank of Spain.
Enrique goes onto bellow how the weaponry was enough to take down all of the thieves with his decadent personality at its best. He’s seen calling the grenades Lionel Messi and Neymar whilst he references to the entire barrage of weapons as Cristiano Ronaldo.
“Even though we have little Messi? and Neymar and Cristiano Ronaldo? We’re not defending, we’re playing tiki-taka,” Enrique says before his attack.
The subtle comparison between Ronaldo and Messi makes for interesting viewing with Messi being used to allude to only a grenade whilst Ronaldo is called the entire arsenal, comments which are enough to emote towards who the writers prefer between the two.
