Chris Kirkland has apologised after video footage of him saying Kurt Zouma kicking his cat was a bigger crime than racism

Kurt Zouma has become the latest Premier League footballer to add his name to the pile of players losing their marbles and indulging in criminal activities. Shorty after Mason Greenwood was caught on video and audio assaulting his ex-girlfriend Harriet Robson, a video came to light of West Ham defender Zouma kicking his pet Bengal cat around his house.

The video which went viral prompted furor. However, surprisingly enough, West Ham decided to play the player on the same day as the video came to the fore, a decision which was widely berated owing to the woeful visuals he was seen partaking in.

Commenting on the set of events which had unraveled, Chris Kirkland went onto lash out at Zouma as he claimed what the French CB had done was worse than racial abuse.

“Everywhere they go now and everywhere he [Zouma] goes, he’s going to be targeted and rightfully so as well because he deserves everything he’s going to get.

“I’m still in disbelief that West Ham played him last night, I thought that was disgraceful but again – The FA for me, if it was a racism case, the FA have acted, stepped in and banned players for six to 10 games, fighting six to 10 games.

“This is worse if anything, what is the difference?” Kirkland said.

He has since come out with an apology with him clarifying over what he meant. He’s gone onto add how he only meant animals were helpless at the hands of abuser after an outrage over him belittling racism.
