Joe Westerman was booed by the audience and withdrawn from his first match after the release of his act alley full video after barely 30 minutes.
Nothing is going right for Joe Westerman.
The Castleford forward, 33, made a fool of himself when he was caught in an alleyway with a blonde woman who wasn’t his wife.
Despite the uproar that broke out on social media last weekend, the two-cap England international was chosen for Castleford’s starting XI to play away at Hull FC in their 2023 Super League debut. When he got off the squad bus at MKM Stadium, he was booed while grinning gleefully and recklessly.
Joe Westerman mocked and booed as he returns on the pitch after his full alley video went viral
During the announcement of the teams, several spectators in particular sections of the stadium booed Westerman. Yet, the Castleford away supporters loudly applauded him.
Tigers supporters sang filthy songs in Westerman’s defence.
Castleford got off to a terrible start, with the rugby league love rat scarcely touching the ball as they trailed 16-0 adrift after three tries from Hull in the first 16 minutes. After Westerman was permitted to make a tackle, one Tigers supporter yelled obscenities, which finally led to Castleford scoring a try.
Further boos followed when the unimpressive Westerman was hooked after 30 minutes, and his team gave up a try a minute later. Westerman returned with 20 minutes left and assisted Castleford in mounting a comeback, but they ultimately lost 32-30. One supporter made a joke after participating in a second Castleford attempt following his x-rated antics outside a Greggs bakery: “If we win this, I’ll buy him a chocolate doughnut from Greggs.”
The release of yet another explicit video showing Westerman with the mother-of-two in the alleyway coincided with his return to rugby league. The latest video depicts him stooping and fumbling with the woman, who is seated against a wall. After a day of heavy drinking, his upset wife Lauren Westerman, 33, said her husband had been caught with the blonde estate agent and that there were “no excuses” for the footage.
Is it a concern that he is on the pitch when Rugby League is supposed to be a family sport and what message that sends?
