Bruno Fernandes ended up continuing from last season as he scored a hat trick for Manchester United against Leeds United
Up against a Leeds United outfit known to act as a tricky opposition owing to its ruthless and relentless brand of football, Manchester United knew they had to be at the pinnacle of their game in their Premier League 2021/22 season opener.
And the club was pinch perfect on the day as it ended up rendering Leeds United’s attack obsolete on the day. A carnage from the club, one spearheaded by Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes saw the side scoring four goals in the second half.
Opening the scoring was Bruno who netted for the club in the first half of the fixture. However, Leeds United managed to restore parity soon into the second half as defender Luke Ayling ended up levelling things in Saturday’s first matchup.

That was the last of joy the visitors got on the day though. Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba moved in unison in the aftermath of Ayling’s goal as they unleased a barrage of attacks upon the opposition, one Leeds United had no answer to.
Bruno Fernandes added two to his first half goal to score a hattrick on the day whilst Paul Pogba raked up four assists as he assisted Fred to record Manchester United’s 5th goal of the tie. It was a clinical show from the club, one which came with the services of new signings Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane.

Varane was meanwhile finally announced as the club’s player prior to the tie getting underway in the stadium.
