Braves Marcell Ozuna who managed to evade jail time for domestic violence was choking his wife Genisis Guzman when the police arrived as seen in the new video footage
Earlier in May of this year, Marcell Ozuna and his wife Genisis Guzman were involved in a domestic fracas with the Atlanta Braves player going hammer and tongs.
Video Emerges Of Marcell Ozuna Choking His Wife Genisis Guzman Before Being Arrested
Cops were called to the residence of the two regarding an assault in progress, footage of which has now emerged. Bodycam video which has surfaced now shows the baseball player choking his wife as he lost his marbles.
While Ozuna is seen trying to guise the entire incident, video clearly shows him trying to suffocate Genisis as the police arrived on the location in Sandy Springs, GA.
“Get your hands off her! Get on the ground! Get on the ground!” the officer can be heard telling Ozuna.
Ozuna who was wearing a cast in one hand went onto release his wife after being ordered to do so ensuing which he was arrested. The player managed to evade jail time though with him handed a bemusing community service despite trying to kill his wife.
Major League Baseball commissioner Rob Manfred went onto hand him a 20 game suspension for violating the league’s domestic violence policy which costed the player $1.55 million of his $12 million salary.
“My office has completed its investigation into the allegations that Marcell Ozuna violated Major League Baseball’s Joint Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Policy. Having reviewed the totality of the available evidence, I have concluded that Mr. Ozuna violated our Policy and that discipline is appropriate,” Manfred said.
