The Babar Azam-led team was undoubtedly ready to fight, despite Pakistan’s inability to put up a respectable score since they kept losing wickets in the dying stages. he only thing the Pakistani skipper needed was to refuel, and Azam accomplished just that. Rauf heard Babar say something, and then…bang! The pacer sprinted in and fiercely bowled a short ball. Haris added Jos Buttler’s wicket to this wicket to give Pakistan supporters and his teammates plenty to cheer about. After Buttler missed many Naseem Shah deliveries, the Pakistani pacer caught the England captain off guard. The pacer not only sprinted in with the ball but also displayed tremendous vigour on the field by saving a particular four. Rauf retrieved a ball that was headed for the ropes by plunging all the way through.

Even though Pakistan could only muster 137/8, they made sure that England had to scrape to a second T20 World Cup victory. The winning runs were hit by star all-rounder Ben Stokes, who also played a key role in England’s victory in the 2019 World Cup final and notched his first-ever T20I half-century in the process. His final score was 52 off of 49 balls. When they applied more pressure, Pakistan appeared to be able to defend the total, but Stokes and Moeen Ali quickly changed the situation with some big hits in the final five overs.
