Five-star prospect and USC commit Alijah Arenas has been placed in a medically induced coma after he was involved in a serious car crash in Los Angeles. Arenas was in a Tesla Cybertruck early Thursday morning when the vehicle lost control near the corner of Corbin Avenue and Blythe Street.

A surveillance video footage of basketball prodigy Alijah Arenas involved in a fiery car crash has recently gone viral online. The footage captured the exact moment when Alijah’s Tesla Cybertruck burst into flames after crashing into a tree and fire hydrant.
TMZ later released footage that showed the intense aftermath of the crash involving the 18-year-old. The video, which was recorded by a nearby resident, shows Alijah’s Tesla Cybertruck engulfed in flames as water gushes out from a broken hydrant. In response to the accident, several bystanders quickly stepped in to pull Arenas out from the wreckage.

Just moments later, Arenas appears on the ground in visible pain as emergency crews slowly load him onto a stretcher. According to reports, Arenas was in a conscious and stable condition when authorities took him to the hospital. However, further reports suggest that doctors had to put the high school basketball player in a medically induced coma.

Incident report
Following the incident, the Los Angeles Police Department issued a report of the incident but did not confirm Arenas’ identity. The department reportedly told KTLA that a Tesla Cybertruck veered off the road before proceeding to crash on the 7900 block of Corbin Avenue just before 5 a.m. Moreover, authorities in the area also stated that the crash involved a collision with a fire hydrant and a tree. And initial reports stated that the 18-year-old driver was hospitalized and in a stable condition.
