Hicks is shown being held down by two men before she manages to stand and move away. Then, the footage shows her going into a bag, removing a gun, and firing several times. As Hicks gets closer and keeps shooting at the victim, he can be seen running and collapsing in the road. The white vehicle then hits Hicks, and it looks like the driver is running over her as they leave the area.

Official statement

Officers from Miami Police responded to a ShotSpotter alarm in the 2400 block of Northwest 2nd Avenue, close to Wynwood Walls, and discovered Hicks suffering from blunt force injuries and the man who had been shot several times lying on the ground.

The man, whose identity remained a secret, passed away from his wounds. Before being released from the hospital following her police interrogation, Hicks also admitted shooting. According to the report, Hicks informed detectives during her police interview that she and her manager had gotten into a verbal argument that swiftly got out of hand and went physical.

Hicks claimed that she had to fire since she feared for her life. She was taken into custody after her arrest. She is anticipated to be released shortly under home arrest and $50,000 bail. Last month in bail court, Hicks’ public attorney described the situation as a “clear case of self-defense.”
