In the video, Arvind Kejriwal is seen addressing the netizens and saying, “It is said that the residence of the richest person of this country, which is inside Mumbai, has been built on a waqf property.

“I’m not saying wrong, right? The government of Mumbai can’t do anything about that. Had it been our government, we would have demolished the construction.”

Furthermore, he even claimed that the Aam Aadmi party is in full support of the Waqf Board. He also said that he will stand by the Board and will help them wherever it is needed.

So far the video has received too much attention as it is trending, many people took to their social media handles and have slammed the national capital’s CM for making such remarks.

Although the actual video dates back to 2019 when Arvind Kejriwal went to a conference which was held by the Waqf Board at Aiwan-E-Ghalib in Delhi. But the video has been making rounds on the internet now.

In the video, Kejriwal is also seen addressing that Delhi Government will bear the cost of construction of schools and hospitals on the land held by Waqf Board.

As per reports, the event was held in 2019 before the elections of Lok Sabha.

In the video the leader of AAP reportedly stated that the residence of Reliance group chairman, Mukesh Ambani was built on Waqf Board property, however it seems to be inaccurate.

The controversy centres on a 4,500 square-meter plot of land, where the Currimbhoy Ebrahim Khoja Orphanage Trust formerly operated an orphanage.

However, the Trust requested authorization from the Charity Commissioner to sell the land to Antilia Commercial Pvt Ltd, which was later approved.

But after learning of the transaction between them, the CEO of the Waqf Board has sent a notice to both parties which the orphanage Trust disputed.

Later, the trust and the Board mutually decided to resolve the dispute, and the Board passed a resolution ratifying the deal.

According to reports, the Maharashtra State Waqf Board declared in November 2017 that the sale of the land which occurred around 2004-2005 was unlawful because it was Waqf’s property.

Meanwhile, multiple suits were brought to Bombay High Court. In November 2016, the State Waqf Board filed an affidavit.
