Anderson Peters Beat By Boat Crew Members And Thrown Into The Ocean In Granada, Video Of Assault Goes Viral
Javelin throw world champion Anderson Peters was brutally assaulted and pushed off the boat into the ocean on Wednesday. On August 10 in Grenada, it was claimed that the boat’s crew members forced the javelin thrower off the vessel.
The 24-year-old athlete from Grenada earned the gold medal by outdistancing Neeraj Chopra of India, who took home the silver at the World Championship this year.
On social media, a video of Peters being assaulted severely by at least four guys and being tossed into the sea from the party boat has surfaced. Peters is currently seeking medical attention for minor injuries, according to a statement released by the Grenada Police following the incident.

The Grenada Olympic Committee is unhappy.
The Grenada Olympic Committee, meantime, responded angrily and expressed its sadness over the news of the cowardly actions of a group of five people who violently attacked our country’s sporting star.
They have received early information on the situation, and they believe the assault by those foreigners resulted in non-life-threatening injuries to their world champion. The Grenada Olympic Committee condemns those inhumane acts alongside the people of Grenada and looks forward to the appropriate authorities taking firm action against all of the offenders. They are prepared to assist in his recuperation, and they anticipate that the situation will be resolved quickly, the committee continued.
Recent achievements
Peters, who was born on October 21, 1997, regularly competes against India’s gold-medal winning javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra. At the World Athletics Championships held in Oregon this year, the Grenadian javelin thrower and his Indian competitor claimed first and second place. Chopra came in second with 88.13 metres, while Peters successfully defended his title with a throw of 90.54 metres.
Injury prevented Chopra from competing in the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, but Peters paid tribute to him online. At the just-completed Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham, the Grenadian took home the silver medal in the javelin throw event. He maintained his strong form, once taking the lead with a throw of 88.64 metres. Arshad Nadeem of Pakistan set a new Games Record with his sixth throw, measuring 90.18 metres, earning him the gold
