In the Saudi Super Cup semifinals, Al Nassr played Al Ittihad and thousands of fans screamed Lionel Messi name at Cristiano Ronaldo

Al Nassr lost to Al Ittihad 3-1 in the Saudi Super Cup semifinals and didn’t win the first title of the Cristiano Ronaldo era. It was the first big letdown for the thousands of fans who were looking forward to seeing Cristiano play in the championship game.

Before the Saudi Super Cup semifinal game between Al Ittihad and Al Nassr, Cristiano Ronaldo got a big surprise. At the King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh, a group of Al Ittihad fans decided to welcome him by chanting the name of Lionel Messi.

Also, Al-Nassr are officially out of the Saudi Super Cup because they lost to Al Ittihad 3-1 in the semifinals. At Riyadh, Ronaldo’s team didn’t score a goal.

Since it was announced that Cristiano Ronaldo was the new star in Saudi Arabia, Al-Nassr have won all of their official games. Also, they are in first place in the Saudi Pro League right now. The Saudi Super Cup now has four teams instead of three. Al-Nassr got in because Al-Hilal won the Pro League and came in second in the King Cup. So, since Al-Nassr finished third in the league last year, they were invited.
