In preparation for the October assembly elections in their home state of Haryana, where the BJP of which Brij Bhushan is a member has ruled since October 2014, Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia are now a part of Congress.
Wrestler Vinesh Phogat on Sunday vowed to continue proving Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh “wrong” in response to his persistent assaults on him for going into politics. She said, “Think of all that he has said…that he would hang himself if any woman came forward to accuse him. Many did. And what did he do? He accused me of cheating…that I wanted to change rules.”
Phogat sought the blessings of those encircling her vehicle in order to catch a peek of her. Her supporters sang “Vinesh Phogat zindabad” to the rhythms of a “dhol.”
Later, Phogat gave a speech to a group in Bhakta Khera village, saying that if she could help people with their troubles, she would always be grateful to God.

Meawhile, a video of ABP News reporter Veeresh Pandey mocking and slandering Vinesh Phogat during an interview with Brij Bhushan has received immense backlash on social media after going viral on Twitter/X.
Vinesh Phogat responded to BJP leader and former president of the Wrestling Federation of India Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh’s criticisms by saying she has proven him wrong and will keep doing so.

Brij Bhushan had informed the media that the opposition had planned the protest that followed and that Vinesh and wrestler Bajrang Punia’s decision to join the Indian National Congress refuted the accusations of sexual harassment made against him. Brij Bhushan was allegedly instructed by the BJP not to criticize national wrestlers and medal winners after this.
Vinesh missed out on at least a silver medal at Paris Olympics after being found overweight, has been fielded from Julana by Congress. Punia, however, has been designated as the All India Kisan Congress’s functioning chairman.
Brij Bhushan had said that Vinesh’s disqualification was God’s “punishment” for her “cheating” in response to the wrestlers’ political plummet.
The BJP politician was the target of complaints last year from wrestlers headed by Olympians Phogat, Punia, and Sakshi Malik while he was the president of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI). He has consistently denied any s*xual harassment of any female wrestlers, including children.
