As IPL 2025 nears its final stages, the action isn’t just on the field—it’s heating up online too. A social media spat between singer Rahul Vaidya and Virat Kohli has unexpectedly drawn MS Dhoni into the spotlight, triggering backlash from Kohli fans. Notably, this controversy began when Virat Kohli was seen liking a fan page photo of actress Avneet Kaur. The like caught attention online, prompting Kohli to explain that it was likely an accidental tap due to Instagram’s algorithm.
However, Rahul Vaidya mocked this explanation in his Instagram story, which angered many Kohli supporters. Soon after, fans accused Vaidya of intentionally taking a dig at Kohli. What made things worse was Vaidya’s known friendship with MS Dhoni. Old pictures of Vaidya with Dhoni and his wife Sakshi began surfacing, leading fans to believe this was a subtle attack linked to their rivalry, especially after RCB’s big win over CSK.

While some also claimed that Rahul and Sakshi were dating previously, there is no official backing to support this claim with Rahul currently married to Disha Parmar with whom he has a daughter. However, Rahul, MS Dhoni and his wife Sakshi are believed to be close to each other owing to the manifold photos of them seen together.
Some rumors online have also claimed that Rahul’s all shows were cancelled in Mumbai due to his spat with Kohli, however, this is untrue as well.
Some fans even speculated that Vaidya’s post was part of a PR stunt to distract people from CSK’s poor performance this season. A few extreme voices went as far as accusing Dhoni of supporting the trolling, while others dragged in religious angles and questioned Dhoni’s personal choices.
