The viral-video is from the Championship League clash between Arsenal vs PSG. It features Riccardo Calafioriโs teammate handing something over to him on the field, which fans believe to be vape.
The incident that took place at the Emirates Stadium in the 76th minute of the match resulted Riccardo Calafiori receiving a yellow card following a brief clash with PSGโs Fabian Ruiz.
Despite the controversy, both Rice and Calafiori impressed as Arsenal secured a 2-0 win, courtesy of first-half goals from Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka.
However, it was a second-half moment that stirred controversy. It all happens when referee Slavko Vincic was booking Calafiori, Rice appeared to give him an item, which Calafiori quickly put in his mouth.
Reportedly, from a distance, it seemed like Rice had passed him a vape, which Calafiori briefly used before discarding.

However, it was revealed later that the item was likely an electrolyte gel, often used by athletes for quick energy. Though due to its resemblance a vape in shape, it confused the social media users. These gels are designed for rapid consumption, much like energy drinks.
Social Media Userโs Reaction
Though social media users were firm that Riccardo Calafiori was caught using a vape. However many observant fans quickly clarified that it was โobviously a gel.โ
One such user took to X and exclaimed, โItโs obviously a gel, not a vape. Relax!โ Another added, โThe gels are meant to give a quick energy boost, and theyโre perfectly legal to use during a match.โ
