New Orleans Police have issued an arrest warrant for former UFC fighter Nate Diaz. A representative for the New Orleans Police Department told ESPN that “Nate Diaz’s arrest warrant was issued following an investigation.” The official did add, though, that Diaz has not yet been taken into jail.
So how does a photo of Diaz wearing an orange jumpsuit become popular? Why is it that people think Diaz has already been taken into custody? We are once more AI’s victims.
An AI-generated image has gone viral online. It’s a fake photo of Diaz wearing an orange jumpsuit. However, the majority of supporters appeared to be complicit in the problem and realised that something is off.
The bigger picture
As people raged all around them, Petersen confronted Diaz in the fight sequences that have been made public. Diaz placed Petersen in a chokehold and reportedly let him fall to the ground unconscious. According to the police, Petersen was discovered “bleeding from the rear of his head.” However, Nate Diaz asserts self-defence when speaking about the arrest warrant in his statement.
A statement was published by Nate Diaz’s team. It claimed that Diaz acted in self-defense. Nate has learned about the arrest warrant, according to Walter Becker, Nate’s lawyer. Additionally, Becker has spoken with New Orleans court officials, according to a statement from Diaz’s attorney Zach Rosenfield.
“Nate’s counsel is happy to provide the district attorney with all the information about this occurrence, which amply shows that Nate only reacted in self-defence after being forcefully chased by a skilled fighter called Rodney Petersen with the aim to attack him. No more comments will be made at this time.”
According to MMA Fighting, Louisiana considers the allegations against Diaz, second-degree battery offences, to be crimes. Diaz may receive a term of up to eight years in prison “with or without hard labour” and/or a fine of up to $2,000 for these offences.
