In 1983, Poffo joined the World Wrestling Federation (WWF). He was a fan favourite right away. He was known for his athleticism and his move called the “moon sault,” which was a backflip dive from the top rope. Poffo kept getting more and more popular, and soon he was one of the best mid-card performers in the company.
In 1986, Poffo left the WWF and signed with World Championship Wrestling, which was its biggest rival (WCW). He kept surprising fans with his skills in the ring and was the WCW Light Heavyweight Champion twice. Poffo also had some memorable fights with top stars like “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair and “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes.
