@JRobFromMN was one of the Twitter users who thought the Nashville school shooter changed her shoe moments before being shot and that they were wearing a certain pair while walking around the school site. In addition to pictures of Hale on the school grounds, the person also tweeted a blurry picture of Hale being fired at by the police.
When asked why the Nashville gunman had one pair of shoes on when they entered and a second pair on when they were slain, the user asked, “Can someone simply tell me I’m a crazy conspiracy theorist and present a completely normal explanation?” According to the story, Hale was first sporting Puma sneakers, which were then switched out for Vans when she came under fire.
But, in reality, there was no exchange.
The same, though, has now been disproved online. The images that went viral and gave the impression that Hale was wearing various shoes at different times were digitally manipulated, according to Twitter user @robbystarbuck. The user went on to clarify that Hale could clearly see the Vans insignia when she entered the school, which clarified why some online commenters believed Hale was wearing Puma footwear.
“Due to a mix of video compression issues and rolled-up camouflage pants obstructing the complete Vans line on the side of the shoe, the snapshot is used to claim they were Puma sneakers was somewhat credible at first glance for some without additional investigation. Another screenshot that is floating around has dazzling flames that have been digitally manipulated,” the person claimed.
