Warzone 2.0 DMZ Mode Explained

Call of Duty Warzone 2.0 DMZ mode is a brand new mode that includes three factions that players can choose. After choosing a faction, players need to complete missions while achieving side quests and looting valuable items in the process.

Moreover, players also constantly find themselves engaging with AI cannon fodder as well as enemy Operators. Players can check out the three factions in Activision’s Warzone 2.0 DMZ mode below:

Legion faction

The Legion faction is a private military contractor, which has conflicting reports regarding its ties to greater Western powers. The Legion is one of the first factions that an Operator can accept jobs from. This is because the faction is desperate to gain a foothold in the global conflict.

Soldiers who join the Legion no longer exist on paper, and people who contract them are given the freedom to order any mission that could be considered as acts of war in normal circumstances.

White Lotus Faction

Once a player successfully completes multiple missions for the Legion, they can eventually learn about DMZ’s second faction, White Lotus. This faction is one that is currently fighting on its heels to regain a silent dominance over the region.

For several years, the White Lotus have used Al Mazrah’s abundance of natural resources to help fuel its benefactors. These particular benefactors are constantly in the act of rapidly expanding their public infrastructure projects.

However, the faction has suffered a reduced presence due to attrition from Al Qatala and other factions. Players can help assist the White Lotus in retaking their original operations base. This move could help them reestablish the their prior dominions over the DMZ.

Black Mous

This third faction is made available only after a player completes multiple missions for both the Legion and White Lotus. This is because, the Black Mous faction hold knowledge as the ultimate form of power.

Black Mous is an anonymous, decentralized group, acting as a shadow presence over the DMZ. Not much is revealed about eh faction’s leadership. However, the group is notably built upon three key code of belief:

  2. Do not reveal your personal identity
  3. Do not attack the defenseless.

The Black Mous’ missions are mostly espionage and cyberwarfare based, using technology found in the DMZ to have total reconnaissance.

MW2 DMZ Mode Gameplay

Players will receive side objectives to complete, including contracts, events, and points of interest marked on the Tac Map. All of these events will take place in the new Al Mazrah map. Players will also have to collect valuable items while trying to escape before the time limit or dying.

The map will feature AI enemies and players will also come across other players as Operators at random points. Each player will have a backpack containing all kinds of equipments like weapons, equipment, cash, and other valuables to buy items from shops.

Players will have the option to exfiltrate at any point during a DMZ match. Moreover, Activision’s blog post stats that when a player dies, this ‘results in the loss of all non-permanent items in your Backpack’. In addition, even though a player’s teammates may be able to revive you, the player will lose all the items earned during matches.

Caldera

Following the release of Warzone 2, Activision shut down the original Warzone on November 16. However, the shutdown is only temporary as the servers are set to return with a relaunch version named Caldera.

This means that players can simply choose to return to the original experience if they don’t enjoy the new sequel.
