Unfortunately, there is still no word on when Xbox consoles will be available. All that has been revealed is that the Xbox Series X/S version of the game would launch’shortly after’ the PC version.
Players who pre-ordered Darktide have access to the beta since November 17th, giving them plenty of time before the game’s release to collect items and customise their characters. Because Fatshark needed to “reserve the opportunity to tweak or reset things in the event something unforeseen or crucial occurred,” they couldn’t guarantee player progression while the beta was active. Since last week’s 1.0.8 update, which added crafting, they’re certainly feeling a little more sure about that.
Will the beta pre-order progress for Darktide carry over to the full release?
As of November 10, Fatshark has the following to say about beta progress wipes, which is a bit of an unknown at the moment:
“Being real, I don’t think we will ever be able to confirm 100% that progress will stay from POB (pre-order beta) to launch. That said, we want to keep it! And we’re pretty sure that any issues that arise that mean we have to wipe will happen pretty quickly. So if you’re concerned, take it easy for the first few days. Every day that goes without a wipe reduces the chance of there being one quite significantly.”
