VVS Laxman To Become Next NCA Head Of Cricket After Rahul Dravid

According to reports, VVS Laxman will be handed over the mantle of the head of NCA with Rahul Dravid set to become the head coach of Team India

Although Indian cricket is all set to get a massive gem when Rahul Dravid takes over as the head coach of the senior team once the ongoing T20 World Cup 2021 curtails, the NCA now has a massive void to fill.

Over the years, the work Rahul Dravid has carried out at the NCA as the head of cricket has been massively hailed. Not only has Dravid unearthed a string of gems at the National Cricket Academy but he’s also gone onto provide invaluable advice to starlets to ensure they are able to deliver on the biggest stage when it matters the most.

VVS Laxman Set To Replace Rahul Dravid As Head Of Cricket

Some of the most notable names in the game have gone onto laud Dravid’s role at the NCA with his unbridled commitment to cricket seeing him land the job of head coach. However, with Dravid now set to replace Ravi Shastri, the BCCI is scouring for an able replacement at the NCA.

And if reports are to be believed, the BCCI has nailed down VVS Laxman as the next name to be at the helm of the NCA. Speaking to ANI, sources in the know have said that not just the BCCI chief but even secretary Jay Shah and other senior officials want Laxman to take up the NCA role as the BCCI has in the last few years seen the NCA head work closely with the Team India head coach.

“Sourav and Jay both would love to have Laxman take up the NCA role. But yes, the final call obviously lies with the former India cricketer as he has a young family also. He is undoubtedly a front runner for the role and not to forget how he has been known to share a special bond with now coach Dravid.

“It will be the perfect combination to have those two work together towards taking Indian cricket forward. Nothing like having former cricketers coming on board to help produce the next generation of stars,” the BCCI source said.
