On October 8, during India’s match against Australia in Chennai, Kohli’s World Cup debut came thanks to a tenacious innings of 85 that prevented a top-order collapse. In Pune against Bangladesh, the right-handed hitter went on to get his 48th one-day hundred. Additionally, he made 95 against New Zealand in Dharamsala and 88 in Mumbai against Sri Lanka.

In four T20I games at Eden Gardens, Kohli has amassed 139 runs at an average of 46.33, according to his record. At the location, the run machine has accumulated two half-centuries. In the 2016 T20 World Cup Super 10 encounter against Pakistan, he scored 55* from 37 balls. India easily chased down 119 runs, and Kohli was named Player of the Match.
