Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs. Sunrisers Hyderabad match
By 42 runs, Sunrisers Hyderabad won the match. There was a moment when it looked like Royal Challengers Bengaluru might chase down the total, but SRH pulled off an incredible comeback to win the game. RCB’s chances of finishing in the top two will be harmed by this.
When it came to the dismissal, Pat Cummins bowled a fuller ball outside off-stump. Krunal Pandya hit his stumps while attempting to play it.

Jaydev Unadkat took Jitesh Sharma’s wicket, who conceded four runs in the over. In his third over, Jaydev Unadkat let 15 runs slip. Bengaluru’s Royal Challengers needed to score 69 runs in 36 balls. Since the asking rate was less than 12, RCB wasn’t overly concerned. Here, Jitesh Sharma and Rajat Patidar were performing admirably together. Without sacrificing the scoring rate, they were going all out in this game.
However as RCB after 15.3 overs – 173/3 went to 16/7 in the next 4.3 overs to lose the fixture, vintage RCB and HaaRCB were once again trending on Twitter/X to troll the team. The two terms along with chokers have been associated with the IPL side over the years owing to its inability to win a single title and faltering in the most important matches.
Vintage RCB is a term used to describe a pattern of RCB’s performance, particularly their tendency to crumble under pressure and struggle in key moments, often leading to disappointing results. It’s essentially a way of saying classic RCB in the sense of their known struggles and shortcomings and vintage in this context refers to the team’s historical struggles and reputation for inconsistency.
Similarly, HaaRCB is a term used to mock RCB by adding the word haar infront of the team’s name. Haar which means defeat in English is used to refer to the team always losing.
The team has also been referred to chokers, a moniker used for South Afria in international cricket. In cricket, chokers is a term used to describe teams or players who consistently fail to deliver under pressure, particularly in crucial moments of a match or tournament and this term is often associated with teams that have a history of close losses or have not been able to win a major trophy despite having strong teams.

Royal Challenger Bengaluru can however still finish in the top two and guarantee their spot in Qualifier 1, and defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2025 match number 65 at Lucknow’s Ekana Stadium will help them get there. With one game remaining, RCB, led by Virat Kohli, has to win on Friday night to take the lead in the table after Gujarat Titans’ loss to LSG on Thursday.
Although they are not in the playoffs, SRH defeated LSG earlier this week in a victory that raised spirits. The team captained by Pat Cummins also ended their campaign with a thrilling victory in the “Southern Derby.”
