Saurashtra beat Maharashtra by 5 wickets in the Final Vijay Hazare Trophy 2022
In the final match, Maharastra captain Ruturaj Gaikwad continued his sublime form and smashed his 4th ton of the tournament. His brilliant 108(131) helped Maharashtra put on a challenging target of 249 runs ahead of Saurashtra.
In reply, Saurashtra started off well at the Narendra Modi Stadium with both openers making a 125-run stand. After 26 overs Saurashtra lost their first wicket in the name of Harvik Desai.
The first wicket did panic the Saurashtra team for a moment but Sheldon Jackson’s mature innings took Saurashtra home. Jackson’s unbeaten 133* off 136 balls helped the Unadkat-led Saurashtra win their 2nd Title.
Vijay Hazare Trophy 2022 Winner Prize Money
The winner of the prestigious trophy Saurashtra was felicitated with a 20 Lakh INR cheque. And the runner-up team Maharashtra was awarded 10 Lakh INR for their amazing throughout the tournament.
Except for the finalists, group toppers of each 5 groups were also awarded a 5 lakh rupees cheque. Assam, Saurashtra, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Punjab were the teams who topped their respective groups.
The match fee of each player was 35,000 fixed by BCCI.

The captain of the Maharashtra side was in sublime form throughout the tournament. He scored a staggering 660 runs in just 5 innings with an average of 220 and a double hundred with 3 centuries. His unreal batting won him the award of the man of the tournament but couldn’t get the hands-on biggest prize.

Narayan Jagdeeshan (Tamil Nadu) 830 runs in 8 innings
The Tamil Nadu wicketkeeper-batsman Jagdeeshan showed his caliber in the tournament. He smashed 830 runs in the 8 innings he played in the tournament with an average of 138.33. He also scored the most centuries in the season (5).

Jaidev Unadkat (Saurashtra) 19 wickets in 10 innings
The Saurashtra skipper has been in a serious domestic form. He showed his quality in yet another tournament by picking up 19 wickets with an economy of 3.33.
