Shaun Wright-Phillips took it upon himself to offer his sympathy to his dad Ian Wright as the two did a live segment during Arsenal vs Manchester City

Defeated in both of their opening Premier League fixtures, Arsenal managed to stem the rot by routing a second string West Brom side 6-0 in the Carabao Cup. Up against a massively depleted Championship side, Arsenal dished out their regular bunch of players to accrue much needed confidence.

And it worked for them as well with their supporters erupting in joyous celebrations as the club recorded its first win of the season. However, those celebrations were extremely short lived with the club being absolutely torn into shreds by Manchester City come Saturday.

The defending champions toyed around with a lackluster Arsenal side, raking up the goals at will before Grant Xhaka decided he had seen enough of things. He ended up getting red carded on the day as he went rushing into Joao Cancelo with a two footed challenge.

Arsenal ended the first half 3-0 down, a deficit which was telling of how they had been schooled by a way superior side. And rightfully so, Ian Wright who was doing a broadcast session for the match alongside son Shaun Wright-Phillips was seen extremely morose at the set of events which had unraveled.

However, his son decided to lend much needed support to his father as Shaun went onto hug Ian Wright during the halftime analysis. It came in the aftermath of Shaun celebrating in Ian’s face as City wiped the floor with Arsenal. Things further worsened for Ian after City scored another in the second half.
