Down 2-0 when he squared off against Adrian Lewis in the Players Champions Finals 2021, Peter Wright showed immense fight and character as he hit two double 10s to take home the win.

The second round matchup saw 51 year old Wright show why he’s been such a stalwart in the world of darts over the years with him refusing to let go despite finding himself on the mat at one stage. And despite even being jeered by the crowd as he stepped up for his final throws, Wright managed to hold his composure to see him finishing off from 40.
The win which came as a massive setback for 36 year old Adrian Lewis saw him go bonkers as he fell to a defeat. He went onto clash with Wright in the aftermath of the showdown, berating his opponent who he claimed had cheated and tried to distract him as he even refused to shake Wright’s hand at one point.

Wright had at one point of the affair gone onto complaining about a loose floorboard moving on the stage. However, Lewis believed it was nothing but a tactic, one deployed to disrupt his rhythm.
Both the darts players went onto lock heads with security needing to intervene to diffuse the situation and separate the players as boos from the fans greeted the fracas.
Wright jokingly said when asked about had had transpired after his 6-5 win: “We were discussing whose turn it was to send a Christmas card.
“Just discussing Christmas cards, and who is going to send the first one.”
