Virat Kohli who was cut midway through his answer by the reporter somehow managed to reign in his innate anger
After the incredible win at Lord’s, the manner in which the Indian side completely lost at its way at Headingley was inexplicable. A side buoyed by the heroics of London was envisaged to build on the momentum accrued and take a crucial 2-0 lead in the series.
Also, with Mark Rood ruled out of England’s bowling unit, an already paper thin setup was further regressed. Devoid of the services of Jofra Archer, Stuart Broad, Wood, Chris Woakes and Stuart Broad, the English faced a daunting task when it stepped out for the Leeds test match.
However, the triad of Craig Overton, Ollie Robinson and James Anderson decimated the Indian unit, sending it packing for 78 in the first innings. While the Indian top order did put up a better showing in the second innings, things went on a downtick on day 4 ensuing Cheteshwar Pujara’s dismissal.
Virat Kohli Unimpressed With Reporter At Press Conference After England vs India 3rd Test Match
As India yet again folded like a house of cards, the hosts battered them to take home an innings win and with it restore parity in the series. And it was only prudent that a string of questions in the aftermath of the defeat were about the technique on show by the Indian batsmen.
One reporter went as far as to suggest how the Indian team was failing to play on the backfoot. Interrupting Virat Kohli during his post-match press conference, the reporter in question went onto offer the Indian captain with some advice, one which wasn’t taken to too kindly.
“Of course England having been bowling full and on the pads but when there are some opportunities to go back,” the reporter quipped.
Kohli simply replied, “Ok Thanks.”
