In the video, Bahse claimed that the assault left her with face injuries that would take several days to heal, which has now gone viral. Due to this, one of her friends started a GoFundMe to provide financial support to Bashe while she recovers from the physical and mental stress. Notably, it has already reached $35,124, exceeding its $10,000 fundraising target.
On the crowdfunding website, her friend said that Texas resident Roda is a student and single mother. Her friend added that she was momentarily disabled by the alleged incident. According to the fundraising website, Roda also had enormous medical and therapy expenditures and will require time off from work as she continues to recover physically and psychologically from the trauma.

The first Instagram video that went viral showed Roda Bashe documenting the incident after she was reportedly abused by a guy who threw a brick at her when she didn’t give him her phone number.
In the footage, an obviously distressed woman claimed that she had been attacked while a group of nearby guys watched without intervening. She expressed:
Y’all, this man just hit me in my face with a brick and all these Black men just watched. This man…grabbed a rock and hit me in my face because I wouldn’t give him my number.
Afterward, Bashe scolded the guys for being cowardly and failing to protect her as she was being attacked by the man who had allegedly gotten into his car and driven off after the incident. She said,
I want you to be a man and do something. You gonna let a man hit me in my face?
In the second video, Bashe was shown crying, recalling the claimed assault while donning a medical gown and what seemed to be a sizable swelling lump on the side of her face.
