He blew a kiss shortly before departing the Lok Sabha following his speech in the ongoing no-confidence motion discussions. They quickly petitioned Speaker Om Birla against the Congress MP.

A traditional Gandhi rival, Smriti Irani, defeated Rahul and his family’s stronghold of Amethi in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. She was angered by Congress leader Rahul Gandhiโs behaviour in the Lok Sabha.
She remarked that “Never before have we seen this level of misogyny in the Indian Parliament.”

Gandhi took his papers and departed the Lok Sabha just as Irani was about to respond to Gandhi’s accusations that the “BJP has murdered Bharat Mata in Manipur” in the House of Commons today. This caused members of the ruling party to yell, “Why are you running away now?”
Gandhi turned around as he approached the LS exit and gave the Treasury side two flying kisses.
Gandhi’s “indecent act” was swiftly reported to the Speaker by senior female ministers Shobha Karandlaje and Darshana Jardosh as well as female BJP lawmakers. MP Poonam Mahajan called for Gandhi to be expelled from the House of Representatives.
Rahul Gandhi explained his gesture by saying he was responding to ruling side jibes in his “Mohabbat ki dukaan” mode. He said that the audacity of the gesture was not lost on anyone.

Rahul embraced the PM and then went back to his seat, winking triumphantly.

Ravi Shankar Prasad of the BJP expressed his grief at what he saw. He asked, โWhat type of conduct is Rahul Gandhi exhibiting? Has he any decency or not?”
The “strictest action” has been urged by BJP MPs, who are requesting that Birla choose the video of Rahul Gandhi and analyse it.ย
