Monday’s killing at the Old National Bank in Louisville, Kentucky, was done by Connor Sturgeon with the shooting video viral on Instagram and Reddit

He live-streamed the act on Instagram.

The police worked with Instagram to get the video taken down, and Instagram later confirmed that they had done so.

Five people died and one police officer was hurt when shots were fired at the Old National Bank. Also Jacquelyn Gwinn-Villaroel, the interim head of the Louisville Metro Police Department, said that the suspect, Connor Sturgeon, went into the bank with a gun that looked like an AR-15 and shot at people. Sturgeon used to work at the bank.

He was fired, and in a note to his family and friends, he said that he would shoot to get back at the bank for firing him. “I will say this, that the suspect was live streaming. And unfortunately, that’s tragic. To know that that incident was out there and captured,” Gwinn-Villaroel remarked when asked by a reporter.

Louisville Shooting leaves victims and officer in its wake

A police officer who was called to the scene shot and killed Connor Sturgeon. Tommy Elliott, 63, Jim Tutt, 64, Josh Barrick, 40, and Juliana Farmer, 57, were all shot and killed. One victim has not yet been named.

Nickolas Wilt, a 26-year-old cop with the Louisville Metro Police Department, was also shot in the head by the suspect. Gwinn-Villaroel said that Wilt was taken to a hospital and had brain surgery. In honour of the people who died in the killing, Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear told all state flags to fly at half-staff until Friday evening.

“We are one commonwealth — united with the city, united with these families,” Beshear said at a news conference.

The Connor Sturgeon shooting is a terrible warning of how dangerous guns are in America. Also the Gun Violence Archive says that there have been 136 mass killings in the US in 2021, with 1476 people killed and 4079 people hurt. The numbers are worrying, and lawmakers and policymakers need to do something to stop the problem.
