Viral Video
The disturbing footage further shows one of the assailants urinating on the victim’s face as he pleads for mercy while seated on the ground. In one video, a man in a grey jacket can be seen assaulting and verbally abusing the student at a secluded location, with two others witnessing the attack, capturing it on their mobile phones, and cheering on the assailant.
The assailant continuously strikes the student’s head, who desperately begs for mercy. Subsequently, another individual in a white jacket is captured in another video urinating on the victim’s face as he remains on the ground, visibly distressed.
Following the circulation of these distressing videos on social media, the Uttar Pradesh Police took prompt action. A senior official reported that a case had been registered based on a complaint filed by the victim’s father, with seven men implicated.
Accused Identified & Arrested?
A senior police official said that the victim, a son of a lineman of Energy Corporation, had gone out of the house to distribute sweets when he was picked up by the accused and the accused then attacked him with sticks, and rods and threw him on the ground.
The incident took place on 13th November near KL International School in the Jagriti Vihar area.
One of the accused, Ashish Malik, has been arrested, while the identities of the others are under investigation—four have been identified as Avi Sharma, Ashish Malik, Rajan, and Mohit Thakur.
The victim’s father stated In his complaint that on the night of November 13, his son was abducted and subjected to assault by the group after visiting a relative’s house in Meerut city.
The assailants allegedly took him to an isolated location, assaulted him, and later urinated on his face. Despite the family’s initial attempts to report the incident to the police, alleging inaction, the case was eventually registered on November 16.
The family has raised concerns about the charges in the FIR, asserting that kidnapping charges were not included, and the accused were charged with lighter IPC sections, potentially facilitating their release on bail. The attackers reportedly filmed the assault and shared it on social media to blackmail the victim.
This incident is part of a broader pattern of alarming violence, as evidenced by a separate incident where a 14-year-old Dalit boy in Uttar Pradesh’s Jaunpur district was subjected to severe physical abuse, including being forced to drink urine and eat dirt, after being accused of “harassing” a girl in his village. The assailants also reportedly shaved off his eyebrows.
