Even after the Indian Supreme Court outlawed ragging in 2001, recently Rajat Kumar of the Bahra University in Himachal Pradesh was seen being ragged in a viral ragging video
On Tuesday, September 10, three students from a private university in the Kandaghat subdivision of Solan district, Himachal Pradesh, were taken into custody on suspicion of ragging an MBA first-year student.

Five students of Bahra University in Waknaghat, near Solan in Himachal Pradesh have been booked for ragging a first-year MBA student named Rajat Gupta.
Social media users have been able to view the footage of the incident, which shows the three of them beating, thrashing, and whipping the junior student named Rajat Kumar in a room.
The three pupils were detained when junior student Rajat Kumar studying in Solan, Himachal Pradesh filed a complaint against them. He said in his complaint that on Saturday night, two students had visited his dorm room and asked to see him in room 416.
They informed him that some elders were calling, and they would take him by force if he didn’t want to go with them.
The complainant went on to say that the seniors urged him to consume alcohol and shut the room as soon as he walked in. They allegedly beat him up when he refused to comply, and the ragging continued till Sunday morning.
A junior student is made to sit in the centre of a chair by a group of three other kids, as seen in the video. They are shown abusing him repeatedly, and other pupils in the room are just staring at the student who is being beaten. Additionally, one of the three kids is seen repeatedly belting the junior student. It appears that another kid that was in the room took the footage.
