The video of the death of a girl after an accident in an Indonesia gym has gone viral
Indonesian citizens are currently mourning following in a tragic turn of events, a young woman lost her life after a mishap on a treadmill led to a fatal fall from the third floor of a gym in Pontianak, West Kalimantan.
The incident unfolded around 1 pm on Tuesday, June 18. Captured on video, the 22-year-old is seen running on a treadmill before pausing to wipe her face with a towel.
In a sudden misstep, she lost her balance, stumbled backward, and fell through an open window.

Desperately, she tried to hold onto the window frame, but she plummeted three stories. Despite being rushed to the hospital with severe head injuries, doctors couldn’t save her.
The autopsy revealed significant bruising and lacerations on her head. The victim, whose Identity remains undisclosed, had come to the gym with her boyfriend, who was exercising on the second floor when the tragic incident occurred, according to local media.

What Did the Police Reveal?
Investigations revealed a mere 60 cm gap between the treadmill and the window. Police highlighted the treadmill’s hazardous placement.
“It’s very easy for someone to fall off the treadmill and then fall down,” stated Pontianak Police Commissioner Antonius Trias Kuncurojati.
Although the gym had warning stickers advising against opening windows, the sticker was reportedly damaged. The gym owner explained that the treadmills faced the windows to preserve the view.
A personal trainer, usually responsible for closing open windows, was on a break when the accident happened. The gym was subsequently closed for three days.
Authorities are now investigating the gym for potential negligence and will review its operating permit. Moreover, they are questioning witnesses and seeking expert opinions.
