Junya, a song in Donda, the new album of Kanye West sees him reference Milwaukee Bucks’ player Giannis Antetokounmpo with a special verse for the big man
Although Kanye West had released his verse for Giannis Antetokounmpo a month back, the official video of the song, Junya on his new album, Donda is out now.
Kanye had first introduced us to the lyrics for the NBA player during a listening party at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta infront of 42,000 fans. The listening party was one of the three parties held in the buildup to the album which after a string of delays and edits has finally been released.

The reference to the Greek player is made in the song Junya which is named after the Japanese fashion designer Junya Watanabe and also has Playboy Carti on it.
“Let me be honest/I’m one with the bucks boy/Let me Giannis. I’m one with the bucks boy/Spirit is on us,” Kanye raps in his verse about Giannis.
The listening party where the song was introduced was held just two days after Game 6 of the NBA finals, one which Kanye also attended. Spearheaded by Giannis, Milwaukee Bucks had gone onto get their hands around the prestigious trophy in July.
This isn’t the first time that Giannis has found himself being mentioned on a rapper’s song though. Kanye joins an illustrious pile of rappers rapping about Giannis one which includes Lil Wayne, Travis Scott, Nicki Minaj, DaBaby, Polo G, Public Enemy, Moneybagg Yo, Freddie Gibbs and Milwaukee artists IshDARR and Klassik while Chance The Rapper and Sheryl Crow have both revealed that they’ll be rapping about Giannis in the time to come.
