With effervescent displays since the 2021/22 Premier League season began, Harvey Elliott needed little time in winning over Jurgen Klopp and the Liverpool faithful. He was entrusted in the middle of the park with him becoming a regular feature of the club’s midfield.
Handed over another start against Leeds United, the starlet was once again at his sterling best. However, unfortunately for Elliott, his season could have been potentially ended owing to Pascal Struijk’s horrific tackle.

The incident which took place in the 58th minute of the matchup saw the Leeds United player go rushing into Elliott in a bid to win the ball. It lead to him clattering into the Liverpool midfielder with his studs, connecting with Elliott’s ankle to leave him in visible agony.
Elliott who instantly hit the ground, bellowing in excruciating pain was eventually stretchered off the park as Liverpool’s team attended to him. It was an appalling bit of development with the agony fraught on Salah’s face emoting towards the severity of the injury.

Liverpool supremo, Klopp affirmed that Elliott had gone onto dislocate his ankle, one which was popped back into place. While the player was discharged from the hospital he was admitted to in Leeds, he is going to need surgery to correct the injury sustained, one which could potentially sideline him for the remainder of the season.
Liverpool meanwhile managed to provide some solace to their supporters in the aftermath of the injury by clobbering Leeds United 3-0.
