The Nice ultras went on a rampage during Nice vs Marseille as the match was suspended after Dimitri Payet was thrown a bottle at and a fight broke out
When Nice and Marseille took on each other on Sunday night, the clash was envisaged to be a competitive and feisty affair. These were two sides who hated the sight of each other, clubs who have over the years given birth to some colossal fights on the pitch.
However, even the most boisterous of supporters wouldn’t have envisaged the mayhem which marred the encounter. Insane scenes erupted during the showdown, unsavory visuals as the Nice ultra supporters ended up storming the pitch.

The fight broke out in the aftermath of a bottle being thrown at Dimitri Payet by the Nice supporters as he headed to take a corner for Marseille. However, Payet was having none of the antics from the ultras as he decided to retaliate.
Throwing the bottle back at the supporters, Payet sparked an mammoth scuffle on the pitch. Irked by him throwing the bottle back at them, the Nice supporters stormed the pitch with blood on their minds as they lashed out at Dimitri Payet and the Marseille players.

After sparring for some time, the Marseille players managed to escape into the tunnel with them refusing to come back onto the pitch as the affair was curtailed on the night. The ramifications from the suspended match have been colossal with Dimitri Payet sharing images of the mammoth bruise he suffered on his back during the feud. A string of other players from Marseille have also gone onto share the injuries they suffered during the fracas.
