After almost a picture-perfect fight, Brandon Moreno successfully managed to make Deiveson Figueiredo tap out to emerge as the new Flyweight Champion.

In an arena filled with supporters, Brandon Moreno was in no mood to let his own down once again. Having started on the attacking front since round 1, the Mexican fighter capitalized on every opportunity to attack Figueiredo and was continuously trying to register take-downs against his name.

Having dominated the initial round, the next round did Figueiredo no good as well. It was clearly the challenger who seemed as the better fighter, managing take-downs after take-downs. Moreover, he was looking for a submission grab to hold, to end this fight.

Having said that the particular chance came in the third round as Moreno was able to successfully lock Figueiredo in a rare-naked choke to call the fight to an end.

Brandon Moreno Emerges As The New Flyweight Champion

It all started with a lunging left hook from Figueiredo, which missed and Moreno popped him back for his troubles. A fast explosion from Moreno got a double leg.

After which, Figueiredo spun and Moreno took the back and he got both hooks in. Moreno has an arm under the chin and Figueiredo was grimacing. He was able to break the grip but he could not clear the arm and Moreno was back in on it to complete the submission move and win the Flyweight Belt for the first time.
