Arsenal fans reveled in Manchester City scoring the fourth goal of the matchup as their desperation to part company with Mikel Arteta grows

You know you are in a pickle when your supporters are celebrating against you. As things went from bad to worse for Arsenal when they took on Manchester City on Saturday, the club supporters decided to just switch allegiance.

Down 3-0 at the end of the first half and down to 10 men after Granit Xhaka was shown a red card for an inexplicable challenge on Joao Cancelo, Arsenal fans decided to depart the Emirates. However, a handful decided to stay back to boo and jeer the club and Mikel Arteta.

As Arsenal went onto concede the fourth in the second half as Rodrigo Hernandez slotted home comfortably, Arsenal supporters decided to jump up in joy. The home side’s supporters were seen regaling in City’s goal as they celebrated alongside the visiting team’s supporters.

Whilst the visuals were hilarious, the pain and agony needed to give birth to them can’t be understated. Arsenal who were eventually defeated 5-0 at the end of the day slumped to their third successive defeat in the Premier League. Barring the 6-0 win against West Brom in the second round of the Carabao Cup, the side has failed to score a goal in August.

Sitting bottom of the league as things stand, things look unlikely to get any better for Arsenal. Despite spending the most money in the Premier League this season, the side makes for a lopsided unit, a team devoid of any kind of confidence or wind in its sails.
