Akeal Hosein took an exceptional one handed catch at the boundary line, an effort which could well go down as the catch of the tournament
The ongoing edition of the Caribbean Premier League has dished out some intriguing pieces of action our way. From riveting matches to astounding performances with both the bat and ball, CPL 2021 has regaled us across its life.
And Akeal Hosein showed that the standards of fielding in the showpiece league have been right up there as well. The Trinbago Knight Riders’ player ended up pulling off the one handed effort in the 18th over of the Guyana Amazon Warriors’ innings to send Nicholas Pooran back to the pavilion.

Receiving a widish delivery from Ravi Rampaul, Pooran decided to lash at the ball. And he found good connection as well, hitting the ball in the sweet spot to see the ball head past the boundary line.
However, Akeal had different plans on his mind as the bowler leapt in the air, taking an extremely well judged catch before ensuring he managed to evade the boundary line upon his fall. It was a tremendous effort, one more than capable of ending up as the catch of the tournament this season.

The showdown meanwhile was as sublime as the catch with the match going down all the way into the super over, one where Guyana Amazon Warriors managed to get past the finishing line. Romario Sheperd was adjudged as the player of the match for his match winning spell with the ball, one where he took three wickets in four overs along with sending down the one maiden over.
