Valimai starring Thala Ajith, a Kollywood action hero attracted the attention of all. The film which was supposed to release on January 13, 2022, got postponed much to the disappointment of his fans. Lakhs of fans of Thala Ajith who got into a celebration mode yesterday just a day back when producer Boney Kapoor proudly confirmed the film’s grand release were crestfallen when the makers announced the postponement within hours.
Valimai makers are forced to postpone the film release as the Tamil Nadu government headed by CM Stalin imposed strong restrictions as covid cases owing to the new variant omicron witnessed a rapid rise. Tamil Nadu government imposed a total lockdown on Sundays and announced immediate shutdown of all the theatres across the state as it feared that people thronging theatres to watch Ajith’s Valimai will act as a super spreader.

Valimai means Strength in Tamil and the film is made in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi languages. Ajith Kumar who is lovingly known as Thala (Leader) is playing the lead role and Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi is the female lead. Karthikeya Gummakonda, a Tollywood actor who shot to fame with his debut film RX100 is playing the role of a powerful antagonist.
The film is directed by H.Vinoth. The makers shot the film in an extravagant manner in exotic locations in Chennai, Hyderabad, and Russia. Yuvan Shankar Raja scored music for the film while Gibhran scored the background music. Cinematography is handled by Nirav Shah while Vijay Velukutty handled the editing for the project. Boney Kapoor is producing the film on r Bayview Projects LLP in association with Zee Studios.

Ajith Kumar is playing the role of a powerful police officer who gets transferred from Madurai to Chennai and he takes charge of the city to control the crimes. He faces a tough task in form of Karthikeya Gummakonda who along with his gang involves in illegal bike races endangering the lives of the commoners.

Valimai will release in theatres in the future after covid cases are reduced. The producers all announce the new release date soon.

Speculation is on that the makers will release the film in OTT skipping the theatrical release to curb the financial losses. Decision will be arrived at in consultation with the other stakeholders before coming with an official confirmation.
