The USMNT revealed their squad for the upcoming three matches, where some of the star players like Giovanni Reyna, Christian Pulisic, and Zack Steffen were ruled out. USMNT will play Jamaica, Panama, and Costa Rica in the upcoming international break.
Reyna sustained an injury in the last international break while playing against El Salvador. Since then, the youngster has missed matches for his club Borussia Dortmund and is going to miss matches for USMNT. USA is in the second phase of the world cup qualifiers. They are on the second spot behind Mexico and tied with Canada and Panama. The Gold Cup Champions will face winless Jamaica in the next World Cup Qualifier. After that, they will be traveling to Panama and will face the unbeaten side of the qualifier.
Giovanni Reyna’s muscular injury has ruled him out of the qualifiers. However, it was expected as Borussia Dortmund confirmed earlier that the midfielder will be out till October at least. Reyna scored 2 goals in 3 appearances for Dortmund. Moreover, the match against El Salvador was his first match this year for USMNT in the World Cup qualifiers.
Chelsea star, Christian Pulisic has been ruled out too along with Reyna. He also sustained an injury during the last international break against Honduras. Juventus midfielder McKennie has returned to the squad. Previously, he was suspended as he violated the Covid-19 protocols.
USMNT will also be missing their goalkeeper Jack Steffen along with Antonee Robinson and Tim Ream.
