In 2022, USFL will make a successful comeback to the spring football scene, know the rosters and players for the new edition
The league played its final game in 1985 before folding after the 1986 USFL Draft.
Now, the nascent league will strive to repeat what the AAF (2019) and XFL (2020) failed to do. It will try to establish itself as a spring-league football fixture.
USFL rosters 2022: Complete team-by-team picks for the new football league
The USFL’s 10-game, the 12-week season is expected to begin in April, but first, the clubs must finalize their rosters. They did so during the 2022 USFL Draft, which took place on February 22nd and 23rd across two days.
The USFL Draft in 2022 will be identical to the XFL Draft in 2019. In each round, teams chose from the same position pool, and the draught employed a modified snake system to ensure that each club got the best player in two of the position-specific rounds. The following is a breakdown of each draught phase:

Day 1:
- Round 1: Quarterbacks
- Rounds 2-4: Edge rushers/defensive ends
- Rounds 5-7: Offensive tackles
- Round 8-11: Cornerbacks
- Round 12: Quarterbacks
Day 2:
- Rounds 13-17: Wide receivers
- Rounds 18-19: Safeties
- Round 20: Centers
- Round 21: Inside linebackers
- Rounds 22-23: Offensive guards
- Rounds 24-26: Defensive tackles and nose tackles
- Rounds 27-28: Running backs and fullbacks
- Rounds 29-31: Outside linebackers
- Round 32: Kickers
- Round 33: Punters
- Round 34: Tight ends/H-backs
- Round 35: Long snappers
The inaugural USFL Draft resulted in the selection of 280 players. They’ll fill 35 of each club’s 38 roster positions, meaning each team will need to add 10 players following the draught. In the event that more players enter the league’s talent pool, the USFL plans to hold a supplementary draught in March.
