While the USFL held all its regular season games during the inaugural season in Birmingham, Alabama, this year, the league expanded its venues to four host cities.
USFL championship game 2023 teams
This first finalist for this year’s USFL championship game comes from the North Division, the Pittsburgh Maulers. The Maulers beat the Michigan Panthers with a 31-27 overtime thriller. Meanwhile, the opponents are defending league champion Birmingham Stallions. The Stallions entered the finals after demolishing the New Orleans Breakers 47-22 in the South Division title game.
While the Pittsburgh’s defense has been its main strength all season, its offense stood out during the opening round of the playoffs. Star quarterback Alex McGough, totaled 394 yards (310 passing, 84 rushing) and five touchdowns (four passing, one rushing). The Stallions led 40-7 after three quarters.
