In the yearly NFL draft, professional football teams are constantly seeking a deal. They had not anticipated this kind of theft. According to KCAL News, two guys who were in Kansas City for the 2023 NFL draught are suspected of stealing jerseys meant for draught picks.
The two males were USC students, and they are currently facing charges. Eric Lambkins and Jude Ocanas were seen on camera leaving their hotel and entering the draft’s backstage area without permission.
Official statement
Police claim that the two journalism students stole three jerseys from the event—jerseys for the Cowboys, 49ers, and Vikings—without having any authorization to be there. According to a USC student who spoke with KCAL News, the two may have received passes to the event because of their affiliation with the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism.
The USC student remarked, “We got Annenberg passes that covered numerous events. I hope they don’t take away the level of trust they have in us,” the speaker said. Jude Ocanas, 19, of Los Angeles, and Eric F. Lambkin, 40, both of Marietta, Georgia, were accused of misdemeanour trespassing and second-degree burglary.
Two jerseys were apparently found when police examined Lambkins and Ocanas’ luggage on Friday, leading to their alleged arrests. Each of the jerseys was worth $350. They are portraying themselves and the university they represent in a negative light.
