White’s career at USC as a running back was extremely fruitful. He was a first-round pick in the NFL draught in 1980 after scoring 49 touchdowns. He played for the Browns in Cleveland and the Rams in Los Angeles.

He met fellow USC student Judi McGovern and the two dated throughout their time at USC, eventually marrying and having a daughter together. The 64 year old had a net worth of $1 million.

After leading the league in rushing the previous season, he played until 1988 before calling it quits.ย In the 1978 and 1979 Rose Bowls, he was named the game’s most valuable player both times. Both the USC Athletic Hall of Fame and the College Football Hall of Fame have honoured Charles White with inductions.

Charles Raymond White was born onย Janย 22, in the yearย 1958. Heย was an American professional football player who was a running back in the National Football League (NFL) for 9ย seasons throughout the 1980s.

White was an All-American and the Heisman Trophy winner during his collegiate football career at the University of Southern California. He was selected by the Cleveland Browns at number 27 in the first round of the 1980 NFL Draft and then by the Los Angeles Rams.

White was conceived and delivered in the City of Angels. As a senior at San Fernando High School in San Fernando, California, he won the 330-yard low hurdles at the CIF California State Meet, besting eventual Olympic gold medalist Andre Phillips. He also excelled as a quarterback for his high school team.

Charles White was a drug addict

White had a hard time controlling his cocaine and marijuana use during his time at USC. Daily pot use at USC and his first line of cocaine just before the 1977 Rose Bowl were both things he acknowledged to in a 1987 Sports Illustrated piece. He began dating fellow Trojan Judi McGovern during his time at USC and the two eventually tied the knot and had a daughter.

Even though he was using cocaine in college and the early stages of his NFL career with the Browns, White did not stop. White went to drug treatment centre in 1982 and was sober for three years. Still, he was released by the Browns in 1985 and claimed off waivers by the Los Angeles Rams, when he was reunited with John Robinson, his college coach at USC.
