USA vs Mexico Continental Clasico 2023 soccer friendly game date, time, tickets, head to head, live stream

The USA men’s national team (USMNT) will take part in a USA vs Mexico friendly soccer match as part of the Continental Clasico 2023, check out date, time, tickets, how to watch live, head to head, and more

The two sides will face off each other for the first time in 2023 in Glendale, Arizona in mid-April.

The upcoming match will also be the first ever annual “Continental Clasico”, where the match will feature two of the three 2026 World Cup hosts.

USA vs Mexico date and time

The exciting USA and Mexico clash will take place on Wednesday, April 19 just outside Phoenix, Arizona.

However, since the game will fall outside a designated FIFA international window, clubs are not required to release their players for international duty. As such, either of the rosters will seemingly not feature their most notable stars. Fans can instead see a majority of domestic-based players for both sides.

Tickets and livestream

Tickets for the upcoming match have gone on sale since March 23, and are currently available for purchase. Fans looking to watch the match live can do so on ESPN.

The Continental Clasico

The Continental Clasico was is a new annual event that U.S. Soccer announced early in March of 2023. The event will feature the USMNT playing against a team determined from North, Central, or South America.

The first opponent to start of the competition in 2023 has been determined as Mexico. Since the United States received an automatic qualification for the 2026 World Cup as joint hosts, they will not participate in the CONCACAF qualification.

As such, the upcoming event will serve as a way of securing a match against top-level competition during a four-year World Cup cycle.

USA and Mexico have a longstanding rivalry where the U.S. has slightly more dominance in recent history. The two nations’ men’s soccer teams are scheduled to meet twice this year and the upcoming match will be the first. The upcoming match will also be their sixth meeting in the last three years.
