US Open tennis 2023 women’s doubles winner predictions, favourites and odds list
The defending US Open women’s doubles champions return to Queens as the top seeds.
1. Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova
Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova, a Czech duo who are at the top of the women’s bracket, are attempting to cap their Slam season with a second victory on a hard court major after winning the Australian Open.
Seven-time Grand Slam champions Krejcikova and Siniakova won their match against Taylor Townsend and Caty McNally at the US Open one year ago, capping their career Grand Slam.
2. Leylah Fernandez and Taylor Townsend
The 2021 US Open women’s singles runner-up Leylah Fernandez will be Townsend’s partner this year. While Townsend and Alycia Parks recently captured the doubles championship in Cincinnati, Fernandez and Townsend have also achieved a number of noteworthy feats this year.
3. Storm Hunter and Elise Mertens
Watch out for Storm Hunter and Elise Mertens, the No. 2-seeded duo as well. They reached the semifinals at the Cincinnati and Montreal WTA 1000 events this summer and were this year’s Wimbledon finalists. They have also been reliable on the summer hard-court swing.
Prior to that, they advanced to the quarterfinals of the Australian Open and Indian Wells. They will face American Danielle Collins and Ukrainian Nadiia Kichenok in the opening round of their competition.
4. Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula
The duo of Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula most recently reached the quarterfinals of the Canadian Open. At the 2022 Qatar Open, Pegula and Gauff won their first doubles championship. Since then, they have advanced to the 2022 French Open final and the 2023 Australian and French Open semifinals.
5. Victoria Azarenka and Beatriz Haddad Maia
In their debut event together, Unseeded Victoria Azarenka and Beatriz Haddad Maia won the Mutua Madrid Open title after defeating top seeds Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula in the doubles final. Haddad Maia was also reached the final of the Indian Wells Masters with Laura Siegemund.
