Due to their success at the major tournaments this season, players like Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic enter the New York Major as strong favourites to win.
1. Novak Djokovic
Djokovic has good odds at +120, according to betting site SportsLine, meaning a $100 gamble on him will return $120 if he wins the competition. Given how he prevailed in a gritty three-set match against his younger competitor at last week’s Cincinnati Open final, he is somewhat favoured over Alcaraz.
2. Carlos Alcaraz
On the other hand, Alcaraz has +150 odds of winning the race. The 20-year-old has so far in 2023 left a lasting impression. The Russian professional didn’t pkay so good during the lead-up to this year’s New York Major, but has demonstrated himself as an specialist of outdoor hard-courts over the last few years.
4. Jannik Sinner
Last year at Flushing Meadows, Jannik Sinner came within a hair’s breadth of winning his maiden Major title. The Italian player had a match point in the fourth set in his quarterfinal match against Alcaraz. In a terrible turn of events, the Spaniard ultimately defeated Sinner in five sets.

5. Alexander Zverev
Despite having a slow start to the year, Zverev has found his form and has advanced to the semifinals five times, notably in Roland Garros and most recently at Cincinnati. This year’s Hamburg Open champion the German. He also competed in the US Open finals in 2020, losing to Dominic Thiem, and the semi-finals in 2021, pushing Djokovic to five sets.
