2022 US Chess Championships Format, Rules, Schedule, Date, Time, Venue, And Other Details
2022 US Championships, an elite over-the-board national championship competition featuring 14 of the country’s top chess players, is being held at the Saint Louis Chess Club. The winner will be announced following 13 rounds and receive $60,000 in addition to the coveted title of 2022 U.S. Champion. With a public opening ceremony on October 4 and a closing ceremony on October 20, respectively, the renowned 2022 U.S. Chess and U.S. Women’s Chess Championships got underway.
At the US Chess Championship in 2022, the first 40 moves will have a 90-minute time limit. After that, each additional move adds 30 seconds to the remaining movements’ time limit, which is then 30 minutes. There will be no draws in the regular season or postseason games in the Event.

2022 US Chess Championship Day 6 Results, Score, Winners, Standings, & Round 7 Schedule
In sixth round of 2022 US Chess Championships, leader Fabiano Caruana secured a convincing win over fellow competitor Elshan Moradiabadi to increase his lead to one-point. Elsewhere in open division, Ray Robson and Dariusz Swiercz managed to bag their first victory in ongoing campaign. Irina Krush scored a victory in round 6 to sit at the top of women’s division standings alongside Jennifer Yu, who allowed Krush to catch-up following her draw against 12-year-old Alice Lee. The standings were shaken up by four additional winners, FMs Ruiyang Yan, Ashritha Eswaran, WIM Megan Lee, and WFM Sophie Morris-Suzuki, in advance of several exciting matches.
During round 6 of open division, four matches of open division ended in tie including reigning champion Wesley So’s clash against Dominguez and 15-year-old Christopher Yoo’s match-up against Awonder Liang. Meanwhile in women’s division, 12-year-old Alice Lee missed winning chances and instead settled for a draw to sit second with 4 points from 6 games. After squeezing out a draw, Jennifer Yu is tied at first-place with Irina Krush and stands decent chances of becoming champion.
Wesley So, the current US Chess Champion, will take on Ray Robson, who is currently in second position, in the seventh round. While teenage phenom Christopher Yoo will take on struggling Levon Aronian, leader Fabiano Caruana will square off against Aleksandr Lenderman. On Wednesday, third-placed Samuel Svian will compete against fellow participant Sam Shankland in an effort to win his second game of the tournament.
